Bangladesh Embassy will open its door on 02 May 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm

On Saturday, May 02, 2009 the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington, DC will open its door for the US and international visitors. The day’s program will showcase Bangladeshi culture and heritage, social, political and economic evolution of Bangladesh through a variety of programmes, including the Bangladeshi cuisine. Bangladesh has returned to democracy on successful completion of Parliamentary election on 29 December 2008. Bangladesh Embassy observed the first day of Bangla New Year 1416 on 11 April 2009

The first day of Bangla year 1416 was observed in the Embassy of Bangladesh on 11 April 2009 at 5:00 pm at Embassy premises. Bangladeshi community members and friends of Bangladesh joined the celebration on the day. The day's event included a cultural program to highlight our culture and heritage.

Bangladesh Embassy hosted seminar on "Confronting Climate Change:Bridging the North-South Gap" on 16 May 2009

The seminar was arranged at the Embassy in association with two other Washington, DC based organizations namely, World Watch Institute and International Club of DC. It was a part of ongoing efforts by the Embassy to partner with variety of social organizations and think tanks in the United States to generate interest about Bangladesh and the issues like this one, which affect Bangladesh and other developing countries.
